If you’re running out of storage from your computer or laptop soon, then you might want to check out the Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive. It has the same storage capacity as that of the Seagate Backup Plus Fast, however, it has a price tag that is almost half the cost per gigabyte.

The Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive Immediately Becomes the Primary External Storage Device for Many

The Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive comes with 0.8 x 3.1 x 4.5-inches for its dimensions, and it weighs roughly 8.6-ounces. It contains a black-satin finish found on its top lid. Speaking of the top lid, there is a disk-activity light and the company’s familiar logo. The logo is then cloned in the bottom-panel line molding.

At the base of the drive, it lacks rubber feet which many portable drives in the market already have. There is a micro-USB 3.0 port found on the side to connect the device to your computer or laptop. The micro-USB 3.0 cable is gratuitously included in the package.

Out of the box, the Backup Plus Portable Drive is formatted for NTFS. This means that the external storage device is already compatible with any Windows PC. If you’re more of a Mac user, then you will need to install the included NTFS driver onto your computer’s operating system to use the storage device. This is not a total deal-breaker, nor is it even a complication as it will only take a few minutes to install and is quite easy to do. But if you don’t want to add another driver into your OS X, you can immediately reformat the portable drive for HFS+ to use it for your Mac computer exclusively.

When it came to benchmark tests, this particular Seagate portable storage drive performed quite well. It is significantly faster than the Western Digital My Passport Ultra, the Toshiba Canvio Connect II, the Buffalo MiniStation Extreme NFC, and the Adata HE720. This ultimately gives it an edge for fast-paced transfers, especially if you’re handling large files a lot.

The Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive is one of the largest-capacity external storage devices that is available on today’s market. Adding to the appeal for the fast-paced transfer rates is its reasonable price tag. So if you’re in the market for an external storage device, then perhaps you may want to scratch of every other option from your list and get this one immediately.
