Razer Buys Open Source Console Maker Ouya For Good

For a number of people, the Android-based Ouya console was a desire become a reality. It was open source, it was cheap, and it crowdfunded to amazing success. But a stressed start and stagnant life has still left the wish, if not really a nightmare, at least nothing at all to get worked up about then. And now, pursuing Razer’s acquisition of the company, the Ouya hardware is dead officially. Razer’s more thinking about the software aspect of the company, including its digital store, which is rebranded as Cortex for Google android Television, for Razer’s own Forge Television system. “Razer has a long-term eyesight for Android Television and Android-based Television consoles, like the Xiaomi Mi Alibaba and Container Tmall Container, to which OUYA publishes already, ” said Razer CEO and Co-Founder Min-Liang Tan in the recent announcement. “OUYA’s work with game programmers, both triple indies and A, proceeded to go a long way in getting Google android video games to the living Razer and room intends to help expand that work. This acquisition is envisaged to usher more content and developers to the Android TV platform. ” For individuals who do own an Ouya, Razer intends to work with users to migrate these to the Forge controller and console, with their whole video games collection, and with some special discounts to boot.
