Pebble Gets New Features and a Firmware Update

First on the list is the Pebble Health, which was recently introduced. It delivers native step, time spent active, distance travelled, and sleep tracking. Now, it is able to deliver more accurate data than ever before, and there’s also a refined summary of activities that will be delivered by the end of the day. Developers are also able to tinker around with the functionality with a new Health API.

For iOS users, you are now able to receive a more seamless experience pertaining to setting up their Pebble smartwatch. Core controls, especially for setting up apps, notifications, and watchfaces, are now located in a main tab at the bottom of the app. All other options can be found in a tappable settings menu found on the top right of the watch’s face.

Another update is a new Notifications tab for incoming alerts. These will appear as apps and these can be toggled to send your iPhone notifications. For the apps that have been toggled or turned off, they are muted. Therefore, their notifications will only appear on your phone rather than the smartwatch. Generally, the apps can be customized to be always on mute, or on weekdays, or on weekends.

Aside from the aforementioned updates, there are also 12 emojis that are now supersized. Therefore, when you get one emoji as a single message, they will show up as one large smiley icon on the watch’s face.

For the Android versions of the company’s smartwatch, there are updates but are not as appealing as the ones from the iOS compatible device. There is now a Send Text app which has been improved because of the feedback brought upon by users. Also, there’s now in-app language support for English, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and French.

The latest update from Pebble are applied into a whole range of wearable tech from the company. This upgrade can be applied to the oldest smartwatch from the firm to the newest Time Round.
