The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo is one of the more compact models that comes with the Nescafe Dolce Gusto pod system. It is slim in just about every angle, and its price won’t even hurt anyone’s bank account.

Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo by Krups Review - One of the Compact Ones

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo is a Compact Coffeemaker to Love

Even though the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo comes with a dinky architecture, the range of drinks that you can make with it are pretty substantial. There are more than 30 pod varieties available. The beverages all range from espressos, to cappuccinos,  to decaf, to iced drinks, to hot chocolates, to ristrettos, and even teas.

In terms of design, it draws about the inspiring combination of being compact and style. It does, however, resemble its bigger brother which is the Melody III. It has a curved top which is home to the pod holder, along with the control lever. The power button is found at one side and is discreetly placed so as not to draw attention to itself. It’s height is short enough that it can sit below wall cabinets, and its thickness is thin enough that it can fill in almost any recess. It has a 2.4-kilogram weight which means that it can easily be carried around the kitchen without much hassle.

Because of its diminutive size, you’re not going to get much in terms of features. However, its feature set all date back to the fundamentals. What this means is that you can run more or less water through its pod, but you can’t walk away while you do so. Furthermore, there is a guide on each box of pods which will tell you how much water should you use for each type, but it is a bit tricky to get it right constantly. Those who are very particular about their coffee beverages might want to spend more time manually fine-tuning their drinks before turning the device on.

As stated earlier, making drinks with the Piccolo is pretty much straightforward. Once you are able to get the right amount of water for a particular pod, you will get a coffee beverage that has full of flavor and has just the right level of temperature.

With its wide variety of drinks, a compact nature, and an overly simplistic approach to controls, the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo bring great value for its price. However, serious coffee fanatics may soon get tired of the constant refilling.
