Many would immediately be wowed by the appearance of the Fluance Fi70. It’s not your usual Bluetooth speaker in terms of design, hardware specs, and feature offerings. With the Canadian company already known as they have created high-performing speakers in the past, it comes to no surprise that the Fi70 continues that trend.
The Fluance Fi70 is a Top-Performing Bluetooth Speaker
The Fluance Fi70 claims to be the first wireless speaker to ever house dual 8-inch drivers. Furthermore, there is that hole in the middle of the device, which comes as something new in terms of design. With many speakers retaining the cylindrical or rectangular look for so many years, it is a nice surprise to see something new.
Even though it sports the “Bluetooth speaker” moniker, it is not, by any means, portable. Many Bluetooth speakers already sport the portable feature, but that could not be seen for this one. It is quite large and it also does not have a built-in battery. Therefore, you have to plug it into a wall socket for it to work.
Saying that it’s large may be an understatement. The Fluance Fi70 (Black Ash) comes with a weight of a whopping 81-pounds. Therefore, unless you’re a really strong person, you may not be able to lift this on your own.
According to Fluance, this hefty Bluetooth speaker carries on a good number of key specs. For instance, it carries a powerful integrated 280-watt amplifier and a six-speaker configuration. Said configuration already comes with the aforementioned dual 8-inch subwoofers. With this setup, it can promote exceptional bass response starting as low as 30Hz.
As for the cabinet’s design, it is hand-crafted with audio-grade wood. Its thick front baffle and separate enclosures build a good level of reproduction for tracks. Users are able to stream music wirelessly from a number of streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, and iTunes. Users are also able to stream music wirelessly from their own music libraries.
The unit also comes with AptX-enhanced Bluetooth audio technology for better quality when streaming audio. Other extra features include AM/FM radio, touch controls, a digital optical input, an alarm clock, an adjustable equalizer (which is a huge plus), audio input, LED display, and a USB port to charge your smartphones or other mobile devices.
Looking at all of this, the Fluance Fi70 is certainly a promising Bluetooth speaker. It is able to deliver good, room-filling bass and has a very unique design. Perhaps the only caveat that can be said about this is its massive weight.
