Just recently, the one-time vacuum company just launched their latest invention, which is the Dyson Supersonic. Founder Sir James Dyson has been known to make use of the air found along the environment for more than three decades now. With his company’s new invention, he aims to expand their range of electronics, and this time around they’re looking at fixing bad hair days across the globe.

It has already been 30-years since the company introduced their very first bag-less vacuum cleaner into the world, and now they continue to make use of the air around us with their latest product, the Dyson Supersonic. The firm already has an empire out of air, as reported by CBS News correspondent Anthony Mason, as they already have bladeless fans, heaters, purifiers, humidifiers, and hand dryers. Now, the company’s latest item aims to blow customers away.

“The first thing you notice is very light and very slim and very nicely balanced,” Dyson states. “The second thing you’ll notice when you when you switch it on, and I’ve just switched it on, is that it’s very quiet, so I can carry on talking to you while I’m doing my hair.”

James Dyson spoke with CBS News from Tokyo, wherein he launched his new hair dryer along with great fanfare on Wednesday. The CBS correspondent asked Dyson as to why was he in Tokyo. He responded by saying, “The Japanese love new technology – and this was the country that I first launched my vacuum cleaner.”

Mason then asked, “So it’s a sentimental favorite for you in a way?” Dyson responded by saying, “Ah, very sentimental, yes.” Dyson says that the Supersonic is made lighter, faster, and more efficient. He also said that it took over four years and more than $200-million to develop the device. He said that the key to the new hair blower was a new motor.

“You see that’s our conventional motor, which is big and heavy, and it gives flow but not pressure,” he said. “We’ve developed a motor that size, tiny motor, which is of course much smaller, much lighter and very much faster, and gives very high pressure.”

Like with many of the company’s products, including the Dyson Supersonic, all the technology being made comes at a higher cost towards customers. The new hair blower is expected to be priced at around $400. For all of the company’s innovation, it is not without skeptics as the firm is known to place their products’ price tags that are aimed for the higher-ends of the market.
