The Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR is designed to work just like your ordinary pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones but is an over-ear model built for games. This gaming headset is placed at the top-end of the market, but for its price you get amazing sound quality, plenty of connectivity options, and better compatibility for the PlayStation 4.

Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR Review - Expensive Sound Quality

The Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR Works Well With the PS4

While there are many headsets, built for gaming or otherwise, that are made to be predominantly black, the Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR breaks that trend with a glossy red finish over its matte black body. It is made mostly out of plastic, and this does do away with some of the high-grade aesthetic that it should be promoting. However, perhaps the main issue for the unit is the design of the earcups as they would undoubtedly let you give out a Princess Leia (Star Wars) kind of look.

Even though the design qualities are a bit off, you cannot deny that it has a very solid build. Even though it is almost made out of plastic, it feels like the material used can dish out quite a bit of punishment.

But when it comes to gaming, the headset is primed for such scenarios. Those who always go for long hours of gaming will find that the big ear cushions are adequately soft. They fully surround your ears with a snug feel so that the sound will all be kept in one place. Its squishy padding below the headband will provide a nice secure fit. Hence, even though you’re the type to move your head a lot through intense gaming moments, the Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR Gaming Headset will stay firmly in place.

This particular gaming headset uses large 50-millimeter drivers that will undeniably deliver powerful sound. Audio signatures are leaning towards the low-end side of the spectrum as bass comes out powerful. However, playing at louder volumes will drown out some detail, which is not a good thing for gamers that are also audiophiles. Still, this can be remedied easily by selecting the right profile in the Sound Blaster app.

Even though the Creative Sound Blaster EVO ZxR is one expensive pair of a gaming headset, it is difficult to give it faults, especially in the sound department. This unit is very comfortable to wear, offers great versatility, and is great for gaming, music listening, and watching movies.
