With the announcement of the latest iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, let’s take a look at the 5 recent iPhones that have been released over the years. These are the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 6, 6 Plus, and the 5S. We are going to take a look at their features and specs, and see what has Apple done with regards to improving them over the years.
A Comparison of the Five Latest iPhones
Before, Apple used to sell two different iPhones each year. These are the latest model and the previous variant that will now be sold at a lowered price. This is still being done, but the recent trend now is that the company is releasing two new phones plus a more cost efficient solution to getting their previous models. In terms of size, the “Plus” models are obviously the towering ones when compared against the entire group of Apple iPhone models. The iPhone 6S Plus and the 6 Plus stands with a 158-millimeter height. The shortest of the group is the 5S which stands at the height of 124-millimeters. When it comes to weight, again, the iPhone 6S Plus dominates every other iPhone model in the group. The iPhone 6S Plus weighs 192-grams. The lightest one, is again, the iPhone 5S which weighs only 112-grams.
Looking at the build of all iPhone handsets, all of them have premium aluminum unibody cases. However, the 2015 models have a stronger aluminum case as compared to the 2014 ones. This is perhaps their update after the whole “bendgate” incident of last year. Upon the announcement of the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, Apple decided to throw in two new colors into the mix. Customers can now obtain the 2015 models with rose gold or silver as its main color for its casing. This is in contrast to older models as customers would only pick between gray and silver. With regards to the iPhone models’ display resolution, the iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone 6 Plus show no difference in change. This is also true with the iPhone 6S and 6 models. The Plus models still have the same 1920 x 1080 resolution at 401 ppi, while the 6 and 6S still has a 1334 x 750 resolution at 326 ppi. While the iPhone 5S has a smaller screen, it still has the same ppi as the iPhone 6 models. With each passing year, the newer iPhones are thrown into the mix for many Apple fans to marvel and purchase. When looking at them closely, it is clear that there are only very minimal changes between each model.
