Brother HL-L6200DW Review – Suitable for Heavy-Duty Printing in a Micro or Small Office Setting

if you’re in the market for a monochrome laser printer that gives a balance of printing speed, running costs, and paper handling, you might want to check out the Brother HL-L6200DW. It is a solid choice for any home, small, or micro office and its features are capable of moderate to heavy-duty use. For a monochrome laser printer, you would expect that it would be exceptionally good when printing text. However, it is this printer’s weakest point; the text quality is delving into the near low end of the range for monochrome lasers everywhere. However, do take note that even the most subpar monochrome laser printer is still good enough for most business use. Its overall balance for its other aspects still make this particular device a consider.

Brother HL-L6200DW Review - Suitable for Heavy-Duty Printing in a Micro or Small Office Setting

The Brother HL-L6200DW is Still Worth Considering Despite Having Low Quality Text Prints

The Brother HL-L6200DW  can still find its way into any micro, small, or even home-office environment. To start, it has paper handling which is easily suitable for heavy-duty use within the aforementioned scenarios. It has a 520-sheet drawer, a 50-sheet multi-purpose tray, and a duplexer that comes as standard.

If the capacity of the sheet drawer is not enough, you can add up to three additional drawers that can carry up to 250-sheets or 520-sheets of paper. But these are sold separately and do not come with the standard packaging.

As typical for a printer that can handle heavy-duty printing sessions, the HL-L6200DW is large enough that you would not want it to place it on top of a desk. Without the additional sheet drawers, the standard measurements for this particular printer are 11.3 x 14.7 x 15.3-inches. Even with just the standard tray, it already makes an imposing presence because of its height. However, its footprint is more compact than many inkjet printers.

In terms of output quality, results come out mixed. Once again, the text quality is subpar as it even falls at the bottom of the range. However, as long as you do not have an unusual need for small font sizes, then you would have no complaints with regards to its text print quality. Graphics quality is also good enough for office printouts such as PowerPoint handouts.

There are other monochrome laser printers that offer better quality than the Brother HL-L6200DW, but its list of features and capabilities still make it a good consideration and can even be deserved a spot inside your home or office.
