A new technology is making its way. Graphics chips are supposedly out as answer to make the computers faster than before. This is what giant tech companies such as Apple and Microsoft commit to deliver.
Computer users can definitely take advantage of this new tech as it will speed up software in a computer. The primary reason of this is because, now, there is a better way for the software to control chip hardware. It has the capability to boost graphics chip with new abilities. It will speed up the graphics performance. Not just that it will also free the computer’s central processing unit so it can perform other tasks: The ultimate result is a faster computer.
Later this year, the new tech will arrive with Macs and Windows machines. What can we expect from the rebuilt graphics foundation? Its definite that a lot of game makers, other tech companies will take an advantage of the latest thing. In the end the end user will have the greatest benefit.
Pertaining to this, Linley Group analyst David Kanter of the acceleration technology, said that, “The performance opportunities are huge.”
Apple for instance, used the Metal which is the company’s version of the technology – was applied on iPhones and iPads way back 2014. And later this year it will come with Macs together with Apple’s latest OS which is the X 10.11 El Capitan.
On the other hand, Microsoft is not far away from this technology as it also develops its own DirectX 12, which is set to arrive with the company’s most anticipated OS the Windows 10 that will be due on July 29.
Meanwhile, an organization called the Khronos Group develops a broad range of OS which will be release this year.
This is a significant step that will turn on the switch, as Intel and other chipmakers will be competing with each other in terms of producing faster products every now and then. Before, improvement in chips entails excessive power consumption thus and so programmers have worked hard to provide means to open the way to this new technology.
If it is a game, the programmers as gamers had finally unlocked another stage and now there are vast of companies that expresses interest on it. Like the Adobe Systems they are just one of the many companies who are eager to have the new interface that let programmers tap into the graphics-chip power.
In line with this, Scott Morris, senior marketing director of Creative Cloud for Adobe, said that, “We plan to support Metal this year.” On the other hand, David McGavran, senior engineering manager for Adobe’s professional video products, said in a presentation at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference that Adobe will use Metal in the Photoshop image-editing program, the Illustrator program for vector graphics, and the Premiere Pro and After Effects programs for video editing.
The acceleration technology really has a great impact not just to the tech companies, programmers, software developers, game makers, gamers but as well as the end user. It will definitely change the way things we experience in terms of computing.
