This latest smartphone has a 5.5-inch LCD screen in an absolutely fine resolution at 1,920×1, 080p HD resolution (401ppi) It has a nice and bright display better than other budget phones. It has a slim figure at 6 by 3 by 0.3 inches (153 by 75 by 7.4 mm) and weighs 5 ounces (142 grams). Despite having a plastic body its dark grey brush finish plus its silvery accents give this smartphone a sumptuous look. This phone has also a pair of a 1.2-watt dual JBL speakers that plays a big role on the Idol 3’s audio quality.

This smartphone runs with Android 5.0 Lollipop. With this smartphone Alcatel introduces the Reversible interface. What does this feature do? When the reversible mode is turned on the screen orients right-side-up even when you turn the phone upside-down, with the front-facing camera lens at the bottom. The dominant speakers and microphone also adjust to whichever side is up, a must for making calls. This mode adds convenience to its users. More than that this phone also features Double-tap lock screen feature which brings the option to turn the screen on and off by double tapping it.

This smartphone has a primary 13-megapixel camera shooter and a secondary 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It capture video in 1080p HD video capture. By default the primary shooter has 10-megapixel camera but you can opt to use its 13-megapixel camera if you want larger images, found on camera settings you can manally change the megapixel of your primary shooter into 13-megapixe.
Additionally this phone has a non-removable battery that has a 2,910mAh. It seems that Alcatel has already learned a lot from its previous mistakes, this is the best phone the company has ever produced.
