This year, Google releases two new smart phones to their mobile device line – the smaller Nexus 5X and the larger 6P. The former is manufactured by LG whereas the latter is with Huawei.
To summarize what’s coming up, know that the 5X has great value for money, comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, has a quick and accurate fingerprint sensor, and will already be compatible to Google’s Fi network.
What to Expect With the Nexus 5X
The Nexus 5X has a lower price as compared to the 6P, but it also has a smaller form factor. This handset is the better option for people with tinier hands. However, because of its size, it does fall short when it comes to performance when compared with the 6P.
Those who are expecting more from the Google Nexus 5X should know it is far from a premium mobile phone. It is made of a polycarbonate material, and is lightweight. Its vanilla design makes it have a more sporty finish than a luxurious look. However, it has quite the ergonomic design as it has curved edges, which makes using it easy than holding a mobile device that has a design similar to a brick.
Many people might think that the 5X ‘s flaw is its size; however, it is part of its appeal. Not every part of today’s market will want to own a large mobile phone. There is still a part of the population who want a smaller handset that will fit snuggly at the palm of their hands.
As for its button and slot placements, it doesn’t fall too far from other mobile phone designs within the Android market. The volume rocker and power button can be found at the right side and there is a SIM card tray on the left. There is a front-facing camera with a 5-megapixel imaging sensor that sits at the top-right side by the phone’s display. At the rear, there will be a 12-megapixel camera with a broad-spectrum CRI-90 dual flash. It also has a laser-assisted autofocus sensor for the rear camera.
Underneath the rear camera is where you will find the fingerprint sensor that works like a charm.
Nearly everything about the Nexus 5X is just right for its size and its price range. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 1.8GHz hexa-core 64-bit processor with an Adreno 418 GPU. The mobile device also offers 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. While these are all great, it also suffers the same problem as the Nexus 6P and that is it doesn’t have an external memory card slot. Hence, users are stuck with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. The 5X delivers more than satisfactory performance for a small handset. But for those who want more power that also comes with more size, then the 6P may be their better option.
