2017 Buick LaCrosse – A Sleeker and Quieter Model

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse brings a similar design to the concept Avenir that debuted this January. More specifically speaking, the tricolor badge and the new grille shape are almost identical to those found on the Avenir. It has a combination of a staple look with the car manufacturer’s future vehicles.

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse Sports a More Streamlined Design

The 2017 Buick LaCrosse has more emphasis on horizontal lines as this puts even more emphasis on the car’s full width. Even though it does look much wider, this 2017 model of the LaCrosse is only 0.4-inch thicker than its predecessor. Part of this “illusion” comes with the roofline that is 1.6-inches lower than before. Furthermore, the wheelbase has been extended to 2.7-inches as this will provide more space with regards to the interiors. Still, the overall length is just increased slightly by 0.6 of an inch.

This emphasis on more visual width seem to reflect for the interiors of the new Buick LaCrosse. The cabin has also been redesigned; for instance, the dashboard now sports a single wing-like look that wraps around the front seat occupants. As for the door panels, they are now more heavily sculpted than before. It gives the vehicle a more premium look. In lieu of this design, the steering wheel has been redesigned that is heavy on the horizontal lines. The lighting has also been replaced with a soft white ambient light as compared to the predecessor’s bluish hue.

If there is one thing to stress about this car, it is how quiet it is. It continues on with the company’s active noise cancellation technology that improves on that feature further with triple-sealed doors, wheel-well liners, acoustic glass, and wipers that will hide underneath the hood that will all help to keep interiors nice and quiet.

Aside from its design, the 2017 model also comes with a new powertrain. It now has a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine, which is also the sole engine option. It has an output of 205 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. It is married to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Interested buyers can choose between an all-wheel drive or a front-wheel option.

There are a lot of great features in store from the 2017 Buick LaCrosse. However, there seem to be more room for safety equipment here and there for the vehicle, even though it does already provide quite a few of them.
