2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic Review – Monstrous Agility With Luxurious Offerings

Mercedes Benz mostly known by consumers as a premium marque offering sports cars, sedans, and coupes; ever since the G series took a detour from its military use, Mercedes now includes SUVs of various sizes and crossovers in their line-up, one of which is the 2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic. As you may know, AMG is Mercedes’ in-house performance division making the marquee’s premium cars with great performance into premium cars with beastly performance

2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic Review - Monstrous Agility With Luxurious Offerings

The 2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic is a Mini-SUV Crammed With Power

Inherently with Mercedes’ current company image, the front end of the 2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic is already aggressive-looking without the AMG parts. The AMG variant just takes the aggressiveness to a whole new level such as a massive air dam on the front bumper with functional air splitters. The side profile is a bit tamer than what you’d find up front with minimal flowing lines and has a more boxy appearance than the streamlined front end. What’s great about the look and feel of an upscale vehicle is the details all over that expresses the premium quality of the vehicle. AMG markings on almost anywhere a non-standard part replaced the stock part, cross-drilled brakes, quad exhausts, and lower stance. Overall, the looks are on the stealthy side leaving the AMG status of the car to be exposed through the intricate details of the exterior and interior. Under the hood is 577hp 5.5 Liter twin turbo V8 that’s mated to a 7 speed auto, the GLE63S delivers power with grip thanks to the 4-wheel drive.

As a premium German car, quality is never lacking when it comes to Mercedes. The interior of the 2016 GLE63 S 4Matic boasts a classic luxury car theme with glossy wood veneer paired with chrome trim on the vents and door handles, leather with contrasting stitching for details, and an overall premium looking and feeling cabin. The “S” badging on the GLE63 ups the quality with more luxury options as add-ons which even raises the high price even higher but you get the quality of what you pay for.

Driving performance of the 2016 Mercedes Benz-AMG GLE63 S 4Matic presents monstrous power with the stopping and cornering performance close to a race car. The 577hp engine makes short work of the 2.5ton vehicle, the same is true for the AMG brakes and Michelin tires it comes equipped with. Performance is just short of a smaller performance coupe but is very impressive nonetheless.
