When you first hear about the new2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, you may be thinking, “not again!” But before you walk out of the conversation and decide to hear more about it, then you may be in disbelief. Since there are a lot of good, even great things that can be said about this car, especially when you hear that it has a four-cylinder engine.
Don’t Judge the 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Immediately
For the untrained eye, the four-cylinder engine of the 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost would not look any different from that of a V-8. After all, both engines would come with dual exhaust outlets. While this Mustang is not perfect as it is not without its own set of flaws, there are still a lot to marvel about this car.
But before we dwell on the positives, let’s take a stroll around the negatives first. To start, the driver’s side mirror is a tad on the small side. Also, the lock switches need a tiny LED to confirm that they are indeed locked. As for its rear window, it is in need of a wiper, but it will clean itself when you breeze through at freeway speeds; but if you’re just casually driving around town, then you might not see what’s behind you during the downpour.
Now for the positives on the 2016 Mustang EcoBoost; to start with what’s good, the boot is now bigger and even more useful than what you would expect. It is capable of taking on one large piece of check-in luggage along with two hand-carry roller bags on the side, and there’s still some room to spare for the smaller stuff.
There are also Brembo racing brakes (which are optional) which will have a superb “bite” and pedal feel. But these tend to squeak terribly loud when it gets cold. Driving over sharp bumps is now made better than its predecessor. The company has clearly made an effort to make these changes, and they delivered them well.
The 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost does not arrive on the scene with the V-8 roar, but this may be to the liking of many. Not all people would want that roar of a V- engine, so this car was made for those who want a quieter riding experience. To compare its engine, the four-cylinder found in this 2016 Mustang is as quiet as that of a Toyota Corolla. Many would even want this engine on the EcoBoost since it is cheaper to run especially when compared to the V-8.
