2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Review – Not What You Think It Is

Instead of being another variant of the famous Pajero line, the 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is actually the replacement for the outgoing Challenger. The Pajero name was first launched in the year 1982 and it was hailed as the first reasonably budget-friendly 4-wheel-drive vehicle that appealed to female drivers as much as their male counterparts. This latest contender in the ever-expanding market of the off-road SUV category joins other vehicles that are already in the market, such as the Isuzu MU-X and the Ford Everest.

The 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Joins the Fray

With the creation of the 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the designers of the vehicle have managed to blend in a good combination of style and ruggedness. It has the car manufacturer’s latest “Dynamic Shield” treatment for its front. Another dominant feature placed into the car is the elongated combination of lights found at its rear. It looks like a pair of icicles that run on either side of the tailgate.

The vehicle also comes with a number of firsts for the car brand. These firsts include an eight-speed automatic transmission, an electronic parking brake, and a hill-descent control. Another new feature is the new all-terrain control system.

Looking at the cabin for the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and you will find enough space for up to five occupants. It does, however, misses out on the third row seating in which its competitors do have. Still, it is wide enough, and it has supportive and comfortable seats that can be reclined. To gain entry to the front seats, it can be done with the help of extra grab handles on the A-pillar. For its steering wheel, it has reach and height adjustment.

It comes into the market with three variants: the GLX, GLS, and Exceed models. The previous list was sorted from the lowest priced variant to the highest. For the GLX model, you will get cloth seats, whereas the GLS and Exceed will have leather.

Its power is generated from a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine which this car shares with the latest Triton utility vehicle. Said engine can generate 133kW of power at 3500 rpm and 430NM of torque at 2,500 revs.

Overall, the 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is an impressive all-rounder of a vehicle. It has the looks, comfort, and space to deliver decent driving performance and comfort to an urban family. It can even be used for a long-distance holiday cruise around the countryside.
