The OxygenOS 2.2.1 update already rolled out for the OnePlus 2 last month, and now the company has started rolling out the same update for the OnePlus X. The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer has brought a bunch of improvements and fixes for the “X” smartphone. For instance, it fixes data leak issues that are faced whenever users are using roaming connections. It also fixes the microphone muting when using Google Hangouts, and the app drawer not launching whenever the Google search bar widget is hidden.
OnePlus X Update Brings in Improvements and Bug Fixes
Aside from the aforementioned fixes, the OnePlus X OxygenOS 2.2.1 update also has the GMS 3.0 upgrade, an APN update to support the Tigo carrier, general bug fixes and optimizations, as well as a security patch update. The over the air (OTA) update will roll out in a phased manner. Therefore, it may take a while before the update hits all users as what the forum post pertaining to update states. For those who can’t wait that long, users can also check for the availability of said update by accessing the Settings of their phone, then going to About Phone, then tapping System Updates.
Aside from the major update, the OnePlus X smartphone also received a hotfix update back in February of this year for the camera corruption issue. The issue started when the OxygenOS 2.2.0 update was rolled out and installed for the mobile device. The announcement from the company’s forum administrator stated the following pertaining to the hotfix: “We are pushing out a hotfix for the image corruption issue some of you have been seeing with the OnePlus Camera after the last update. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, we expect to see this issue fully resolved with this update.”
The same update for the OxygenOS 2.2.1 build for the OnePlus 2 also brought RAW file support for the smartphone’s native camera app. It also fixes the occasional image corruption issue that was brought about by the previous update. It also included other fixes and improvements, specifically for Bluetooth compatibility, Ultra-SIM compatibility, and roaming issues were also repaired.
The OnePlus X was launched back in October of 2015 and it comes with a 5-inch touchscreen display. The screen promotes a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with a pixel density of 441-pixels-per-inch. It runs on Android 5.1.1 out of the box and it has a 13-megapixel rear snapper as well as a 8-megapixel front camera.
