Fable Legends – Could Return to Xbox One and Windows 10 Computers

For those who remember Fable Legends, recall that the game was cancelled not too long ago by Microsoft and Lionhead Studios. It would seem that they have thrown all of their development progress out the window to focus on other titles; or did they? Apparently, there are remnants of the developing company that would love to work with this particular cancelled title. If this happens, then there would be many who would be overjoyed as their favorite RPG would make a grand comeback.

Fable Legends Could go Back Into Development

Fable Legends has been known to be in development for a number of years and it should be released as a free-to-play title. But this was some time ago and it was never released for the Xbox One nor for Windows 10 computers.

But it would seem that all hope is not lost; a Microsoft spokesperson who talked with MCV (The Market for Computer & Video Games) had the following to say about Fable Legends (PC & Xbox One): “We aren’t sharing additional details beyond that we have ceased development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees at Lionhead about our proposed closure of the studio as well.”

Even though it is great that the game could be crawl back into the depths of cancellation hell, many would still wonder if bringing the title back into production is still a good idea. While there are many who would be enthusiastic that a part of the Fable franchise would be making a grand comeback, the game still failed to grab the hearts and minds of many critics. From the early trailers that have been released prior to its cancellation, the supposedly Xbox One and Windows 10 title does not come off as a hit in every sense of the word.

Therefore, it would be easy to assume why the tech giant lost faith Fable Legends game prior to its release due to its low “wow” factor. Think about this – when Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced during last year’s E3 event, fans were cheering and shouting as their favorite all-time Final Fantasy title makes a definite comeback to newer generation consoles. However, those who have seen the earlier trailers of what was supposed to be the next installment of Fable, well, let’s just say their expression could best be described as “meh.” Still, if it were given the chance to be remade into something that has that definite “wow” factor, then perhaps initial reviews may want to consider taking a back seat then.
