Versatility is the name of the game with the Samsung Gear.
All designs of the Samsung Gear 3S run on an impressive dual-core 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM and a surprising large 4GB of internal memory.
The addition of triple tap safety monitoring is an especially valuable tool. Three successive pulses on the bezel results in an SOS function that contacts emergency services with your location.
Additionally, the advent of the Samsung Pay function allows you to buy on the go. This state of the art technology at your fingertips allows you to swipe your watch as payment even if you don’t have your phone or wallet.
Don’t worry about a breech in safety, as the watch has a built in security features that require a specific pin and is deactivated when the watch is not on your wrist.
To ensure the safety of your timepiece, each model has a watch face screen covered in Corning Gorilla Glass SR+. Both styles are IP68 water and dust resistant up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. This features ensure the daily use of your device without fear of damage or destruction.
Software Compatibility
In keeping with previous models, the Gear S3 styles function with Samsung’s Tizen Based Wearable Platform 2.3.2. operating system. The new line is compatible with Android smartphones with Android 4.4 or above. The phones also require at least 1.5GB of RAM to work properly.
Samsung had previously proposed iOS support on its smartwatch technology in January. The reality of this cross functionality is questionable and the trials currently underway suggest it is unlikely that dual support of both operating systems will not be in place for the release of the Gear S3.

With only a preliminary launch of design available, it is hard to determine a final verdict on the new Gear S3. With that being said, the biggest question mark remains around the price of the soon to be released time pieces.
If Samsung manages to match its previous price range of the S2 around $300 it could become a competitive addition to the market. If the technological innovations such as a larger screen, GPS enabled tracking, and higher quality materials become a factor, the price could jump as high as $400 according to some sources.
Comparable devices produced by other leading industry companies have similar proposed prices, depending upon select features.
