Sony has just recently rolled out the latest update for their Android-based mobile operating system to accommodate Marshmallow 6.0. Improved security, improved camera, and messaging apps are just the tip of the iceberg for the whole slew of new improvements and features included in said update for the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium. There is also a video that has been released by the company which details the latest version of the operating system.

A Look Into the Marshmallow 6.0 Update for the Sony Xperia Z5 Line of Phones

On March 7th of this year, Sony released the Marshmallow 6.0 update through a global roll out. Users are now known to receive the update since said date. The aforementioned video was posted on the official YouTube channel of the company. It describes the change log for the Marshmallow update in greater detail. The update includes the incorporation of new features pertaining to Google’s line of apps and settings, as well as Sony’s own band of improvements and fixes.

At first glance, the Marshmallow 6.0 update for Sony Xperia Z5 hasn’t change much, in terms of its UI anyway. It does, however, offer a lot of new features within, such as the camera and messaging apps. There’s also loads to expect when it comes to the security aspects of the phones.

As per the video, the update will bring enhanced user experience towards security and privacy settings. The new features and improvements will enable users to grant permissions for confidential personal details while accessing apps.

When it comes to the camera app, it lets users take better control of it. The company says users are able to seamlessly navigate between shooting modes while in the camera app. Furthermore, adjusting the screen brightness can now be done in real time while taking a shot.

For the messaging app, sharing content and editing text is now made easier than ever. There are also new stickers that are exclusive to the phone’s messaging app.

According to the Xperia Blog, the Marshmallow 6.0 update that is meant for the Sony Xperia Z5 line of phones can be downloaded over-the-air (OTA). It has a build number of 32.1.A.1.163 and it can also be downloaded for the Wi-Fi and LTE models of the Xperia Z4 Tablet and the single-sim Xperia Z3+. The roll-out for the update for the latest version of the Android operating system will soon be available for download for the dual SIM model of the Xperia Z3+.
