Information Pertaining to Leaked Map of Red Dead Redemption 2 is Found to be Real

Said information about the map of Red Dead Redemption 2 was acquired from Tech Radar. The publication claims that they have their own source as to where they acquired such info on the matter. Their sources have taken a look at the image and confirmed that it is a very recent art direction map that is associated with the second installment of the videogame.

The first time the image popped up was on the NeoGAF forums and then was taken down when users questioned about the authenticity of the leaked picture. At that time, there were no clear hints if it was even linked to the game.

This new source by Tech Radar claims that 2nd Red Dead Redemption game will have a setting that is placed before the events that happened in the original title. The new map is said to be just to the east of the one featured in the first title in the franchise. Looking at the image of the leaked map, it suggests that the West is less developed in the coming game. Caravan camps are spread throughout the wilderness, and it is found that there is no way for players to move from town to town using trains.

The map features the town of New Bordeaux situated on the bottom right side of the image. This is also the same location as the one chosen for the upcoming third installment of the Mafia series. The third Mafia game will be published by Take Two. Because of these map placements, there are some that have already assumed that the new Red Dead Redemption game might be somehow linked to the third Mafia title.

It is presumed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will most likely be announced sometime this year, before 2016 ends. It is even more likely that it will be announced during this year’s E3 event that will take place during June. At the time of writing, Rockstar is keeping a lot of information about the game behind closed doors and it is unclear as to what the idea of the experience they want to deliver with the new game.
