Pilots and Titans will once again be able to engage in battle.

Good news for Titanfall fans as Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Beta just went live on PS4 and Xbox One. Jon Shiring, a lead engineer on Titanfall 2, confirmed the news a couple of days ago through his official twitter account.

Shiring tweeted, “The Titanfall 2 MP Tech Test is now live on Xbox One and PS4 (click here to know how to Fix Stick Drift PS4).

Angelic Hordes Come Forth!!.”

To some, the announcement may not have come as a surprise since plenty of news outlets had predicted the Multiplayer beta launch for quite some time.

The Titanfall 2 multiplayer “tech test”, which is a fancy term of multiplayer beta, started on 19, August for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Developers of Titanfall 2, Respawn, also announced the exact time player would be able to play Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta. Though it has been two days now, it just goes on to show how deeply Respawn care for their core user base, unlike some other no multiplayer game developers like Hello Games.

Prospective Titanfall 2 players were also allowed to pre-load the game to their consoles so that they could get in on the action as quickly as possible after the official launch of Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta.

The developers of Titanfall 2 went ahead and posted the precise time, accurate to the hour, of when players would get their hands on the new beta multiplayer.

The posted time was “8 AM PT/11 Am ET on August 19”, which is inconsequential now since two days have passed since that date but it still showcases how much information Respawn intentionally released to potential Titanfall 2 players in order to attract them to Titanfall 2.

That is a lot more than we can say about Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky which used the mystery factor to hype up the, eventually disappointing, space exploration game.

Many Titanfall 2 players had obtained an early access key and played the game well before the official multiplayer beta launch.

Respawn put out a statement which said that the studio would try and let all players continue to play the game despite impending multiplayer beta launch.

However, the studio did say that newcomers to Titanfall 2 would have to wait till the official launch time of Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta.

It is also expected that Titanfall 2 beta would end sometime on Sunday, August 21. Respawn, the developers behind Titanfall 2, did not announce a particular beta end time but it should be obvious that if you’re unable to join the multiplayer beta, it probably has expired.

Moreover, players who might have missed out on Titanfall 2 first multiplayer beta or simply just want to play Titanfall 2 multiplayer again, will get an another chance in the coming weekend.

It has been announced that the second phase of Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta would be launched on August 26 and would last around two days.

Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Modes and Maps

If you’re wondering about what you’ll actually experience in Titanfall 2 beta, then read below the official description from EA about the game’s various modes and maps.

Titanfall 2 Modes

There will be several new multiplayer modes for Titanfall 2 players to participate in.

Bounty Hunt Mode: The Bounty Hunt mode allows five players to fight against an opposing team which also consists of a similar number of players.

This mode is a brand new mode that sets Pilots and their teammates against a contending team. Not only that, this mode also pits Pilots and their respective teammates against the Remnant Fleet.

Players can earn bonuses by annihilating grunts and other enemies. After some kills have been made, players would need to deposit all their earned points at the bank quickly before the next wave of enemy arrives.

If the players get killed before depositing earned points then those points would be wasted. Hence players would need to make sure that they have dropped their earned points at the bank within the allotted time between enemy waves.

Pilots vs Pilots: This is a made where up to eight players can play against another team of eight players.

Pilots vs Pilots mode will allow all the pilots the opportunity to become the best Pilot on the Frontier. Pilots will be able to test their combat and mobility expertise against the very best pilots.

This mode is being touted as a classic 8 v 8 Pilots only fight mode.

Amped Hardpoint mode: This mode is a bit more restrictive than the other two modes. It will pit six players against another team of six players. The mode will only be available on the second weekend.

Amped Hardpoint mode adds a new twist to the Hardpoint Domination mode which was present in the original game.

Players will have to defend a Hardpoint in order to amp it. Amping a Hardpoint will give your team double score.

In short, teamwork will be the order of the day as players will have to rely on their teammates in order to secure a victory against the opposing six man team.

Titanfall 2 Maps

Boomtown: Boomtown is essentially a top secret underground IMC facility. This is the facility where the latest in Research and Development department is put to the trial.

Pilots in the facility are able to use the numerous peaked roofs. These roofs can act as cover for the Pilots against adversaries below.

The Map has tight lanes which run through the middle and as a result, Titans can easily be ambushed by opposing team’s players.

Homestead:  The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC), has claimed Imminent Domain on a small village’s plot of land.

The map includes a series of raised, rocky plateaus along with a river that runs down the middle.

Because of this terrain, the Pilots are usually safe from Titans when they stay close to the rocks and trees.

But the map offers them another route: the caves and buildings. Pilots can also take cover in buildings and duck into caves when the situation arises.

Despite these advantages, the map will have Titans controlling the major portion of rolling fields.

Forward Base Koda: This map will also be available on the second weekend only.

Official sources have described the map in terms of Militia forces.

Militia sources have occupied an IMC substation and have set up a forward operating base. But even with that advantage (or disadvantage depending on how you play Titanfall 2) Pilots are, for the most part, safe from Titans when they don’t venture out too far from the numerous hallways and chambers of the main building.

Titans, on the other hand, can walk on the roofs to get a birdseye view of the action taking place on the map.

Reports have emerged which reveal that Respawn has decided to skip the PC version of Titanfall 2 multiplayer for now.

The Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta will only be available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Respawn said in a statement that the studio felt it hadn’t optimized Titanfall 2 enough for the PC platform since the tasks require them to make Titanfall 2 compatible with a wide range of hardware configurations.

Respawn also said that it was concerned with “data miners” who might have spoiled the fun for everyone by releasing details on Titanfall 2’s new campaign mode.

Titanfall 2 is expected to launch on October 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (as mentioned before, there has been no Titanfall 2 beta multiplayer mode for PC).

Recently, Titanfall 2 developer studio also announced that prospective players could get the latest game by just eating and drinking.
