Gogoro Smartscooter – A Scooter to Usher in a Compact Power Era

The Gogoro Smartscooter is a refined, edgy, and stylish scooter. Looking at it at first glance, it is like the love child of an iPhone and a Vespa. It has detail-oriented hallmarks of a European-made luxury car. It is the vehicle made for the modern digital age. This device can even be easily customizable with the use of your smartphone. Customization can be done for the color of its dash panel to the power that its engine can deliver.

The Gogoro Smartscooter is Smart and Powerful

The Gogoro Smartscooter is designed and manufactured entirely in-house within Taipei, Taiwan. Every detail found in the scooter aims to deliver an exacting and particular experience. This effect will invite thoughts of comparisons to Tesla (said company has made electric cars that are made for luxury). However, this smartscooter packs a hidden power that could surpass even that of Tesla. Gogoro’s device is not just your ordinary scooter, but a swappable battery service.

This is an entirely new concept since scooters are obviously made for riding. Not even industry observers are sure that this idea will even work. However, there are analysts such as Ryan Citron, research analyst from Navigant Research, who think that the company is headed in the right direction.

Gogoro’s Smartscooter has been in development over three years. The creation has been led by Luke and Matt Taylor, the latter being the co-founder and CTO. The pair revealed the final design of their scooter at the global CEO tech conference back in January 2015. The audience, to no surprise, responded with marked enthusiasm.

For those who do not know, Luke has been the creative whirlwind that assisted in the creation of the Microsoft Xbox, the early Windows Mobile operating systems, and Windows XP. This was before becoming the chief innovation officer at HTC. As for Taylor, he is the engineering mastermind for the scooter that also has a background in early Pocket PC “smartphones” over at Microsoft. He now works alongside Luke as chief technologist at HTC.

Going back to the smartscooter, the frame has been fine tuned to give the ride a pleasing hum as it zooms along. It is something like it came straight out of science fiction which is powered by bubbles rather than batteries. It looks, and feels really fun.

The Gogoro Smartscooter is smart due to its dozens of sensors that monitor performance and maintenance. These sensors will then send feedback to Gogoro HQ for analysis. All of this comes with raw power and great performance.
