Amazon Premium Headphones Review – Crisp Audio With Design That Doesn’t Stray From its Price

While Amazon is more known to be a massive e-retailer, they are also known for manufacturing tech time and time again; and one of those items to grace the market recently are the Amazon Premium Headphones. However, the company’s line of products are oftentimes a “hit or miss” as there are some that do provide great experience, whereas others are just better off left alone on a shelf. So what about these headphones (even though they are earbuds)? How do they fare? To summarize things, they don’t really sound bad, but they don’t have an excellent audio performance either. At its price, however, there are other audio listening devices that are worth your time and money, such as the JLab JBuds2.

The Amazon Premium Headphones are Behind the Times

The Amazon Premium Headphones is available in one color – black. So if color is one of your primary factors for choosing headphones (or earbuds), then this would immediately tell you to look somewhere else.

While still on the topic of its design, it does not offer the most perfect fit. They do not enter your ear canal and seal it off. What they do is that the nozzle will attempt to aim the audio towards the right direction, just like what the standard Apple Earpods do. So what does this mean? It means that if the earbuds do not seal off the ear canal, then you will get a less accurate stereo image as well as less power in the bass. It also means that you will get a lot of ambient noise coming in.

Nevertheless, the fit is comfortable enough, but it does not promote a secure fit as it does not have any silicon eartips. Therefore, this might not be the best choice when you’re running or when you’re doing your exercise routines at the gym because chances are they will fall out most of the time.

These are wired earphones and it does offer an inline remote control and mic that is located around the mid-torso section of the cord. The control also includes a central multi-function button that allows for track playback, call management, and music navigation. There are also a dedicated Volume Up/Down buttons.

So what exactly does it sound like? When playing tracks with powerful sub-bass content, the Premium Headphones do offer a nice kick to the bass. However, since the device is not fitted properly on your ears, then you won’t get to enjoy it whole-heartedly. Vocals do get plenty of treble edge to them to bring a nice sense of contour.

While not sound terrible, the Amazon Premium Headphones do not offer a terribly good sound performance either. You would be better off spending a bit more to get more “premium” offerings in the market than get this pair.
